The Committee on Finance, Banking, Taxation and Customs Policy recommends the Parliament to adopt the Bill "On Amendments to Clause 197 of the Tax Code of Ukraine" (re Support of Livestock Breeding)

Under the bill (Reg. No. 9149), since January 1, 2012, operations related to import of breeding thoroughbred animals and breeding (genetic) resources by agricultural enterprises-subjects of special tax treatment in the customs territory of Ukraine shall be exempt from VAT.

The committee members stated that improvement of genetic quality of animals needs arrangement of conditions favourable for the use of breeding thoroughbred animals and breeding (genetic) resources, in particular imported ones.
